I have recently signed up for (and am participating in) my third 40 Day Yoga Program with Baron Baptiste. Baptiste yoga is the style of yoga I tend to gravitate towards – it has the right amount of physical, strength work, as well as the right amount of meditative work. The program is all online, and the participants are asked to practice yoga (anywhere from 20-90 minutes) 6 days a week. And also meditate twice a day. This year is the first time I have been able to really break through the “I’m too tired”‘s and “I can’t do that“‘s and really push myself. And as I am learning, that is where the transformational aspects of the practice shine through. Being able to push yourself. Push past your self-limiting beliefs. Push past what you think you are, and start developing who you really are – not just in yoga, but in life itself.
I am committed to an almost-daily yoga and meditation practice and I am excited for the challenge. I know I will learn a lot on this venture, and I want to use this blog to share those experiences for anyone else who might be on a similar journey.
I love decorating and working on house projects, so I will continue to share those as well. My house is my creative outlet.
Here are some recents….
I painted some of my kitchen cabinetry a beautiful shade of navy blue:
The chalkboard wall is ready for Valentine’s Day:
This cutie wanted his picture taken:
Yes, he is wearing a Halloween shirt and shorts – even though it is currently -4 degrees outside.
This dining room fireplace wall got a lighter shade of paint and I jumped on the antler bandwagon – these were only $20 at Target, so I figured that was a small price to pay for something that may only be on the wall for a few months. And I really love them!
My boys all started piano lessons in the fall so I put up some new “music” pictures and bought the lamp from West Elm, instead of going with the typical “piano lamp”.
So that’s it for now! Hope to be back very soon!
